ArcelorMittal will launch a photovoltaic farm in 2026.

The construction of a solar farm, scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, is another example of the company's activities aimed at implementing innovation and concern for the natural environment. Sylwia Winiarek-Edogan, spokeswoman for ArcelorMittal Poland, points out that the project is a continuation of the modernization of the plant in Świętochłowice. It is worth recalling that this plant recently implemented other advanced projects, including a regenerative installation of thermal afterburner and devices for fast cooling of sheet metal.

“Long -term innovation tradition”
The production of coated sheets with zinc and organic coatings in Świętochłowice, including materials for popular roofing tiles, is a showcase of the plant. Director Marek Adamczyk emphasizes that the launch of a photovoltaic farm is part of the many years of innovation tradition, which allows you to combine experience with modern technologies. In the conversation, he noted that it is the culmination of both pro -ecological and focused on improving the quality of products and the reliability of production processes.
The undertaking project of modernizing the plant in Świętochłowice included three key investments. The first of these was the introduction of a regenerative thermal after -plane on the plate coating line with varnish, which allowed to reduce natural gas consumption by half and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. The second important implementation was the installation of a device for quick cooling of sheet metal, designed by Belgian experts from the ArcelorMittal branch in Liege. It not only improved the technical parameters of the plant's products, but also raised production efficiency. The last investment was the replacement of a galvanizing bathtub, improving the durability and safety of the galvanizing process.
Energy production will start in a year
Currently, the company has completed the process of obtaining necessary building permits to implement a photovoltaic farm. It is estimated that the project will be completed in September 2026, and the energy produced will fully join the plant, constituting an important step towards renewable energy.
ArcelorMittal Poland is the largest steel producer in the country, with plants in Krakow, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Sosnowiec, Świętochłowice and Chorzów and the Coking Plant in Zdzieszowice. The company employs over 9,000 people, being part of the global ArcelorMittal group. Thanks to constant investments in innovation, the manufacturer strengthens his leader's position in the construction, household appliances and transport sector, while adapting to the requirements of the modern market.
