Stelian Bujduveanu (PNL), the interim general mayor of the Capital, said in the Talk B1 show, moderated by Alex Vlădescu, that, the salaries of the directors and the allowances of the members of the Board of Directors were reduced.

He stressed that it is absurd for a municipal company director to have a salary of 40,000 lei per month. As a result of this measure, the saving of one million euros per year has been saved, which represents over 4.5 million lei in the budget.

A million euros that will go to the investment in the city

Bujduveanu mentioned that these savings were made before starting the reforms inside the companies, adding that they are in discussions to restructure the smaller companies and to keep only the big ones.

“First of all, it was aberrant for a director of a municipal company to have a salary of 40,000 lei. Therefore, 45 days ago, I came with a decision in the General Council, agreed by all the political groups, by which I capped the salaries at the level of the deputy mayor, as the law says.

Through this reduction, because I monitored them, the respective companies have monitored them lately, until they have all fulfilled this obligation, less a company that has a mandate contract for 4 years, but has committed that, for a will, the director will reduce the respective salaries at this level, we managed to save a million euros per year.

One million euros is the amount, over 4.5 million lei, the amount that saved to the budget from this measure. And think that the reforms did not even start inside the companies, so this, ”said the mayor.

Asked how many PMB has the company now, the interim general mayor of the capital said that 11 companies are at this moment.

Questioned and if they will reduce their number, Bujuveanu replied:

“Yes, we are in internal discussions to reduce them, we will only hold the big ones, the STB, the transport company, the company that ensures the delivery of thermal agent, the companies that have delegated a public service.”

“(…) We have to think very well how we do these reforms inside the companies, and we have a restructuring plan for small companies, in the first phase, and in big companies, directors, together with all the staff, we talk about 10,000 employees, 4000 employees, all contribute to improving the quality of the service.”

Half of the local police in Bucharest will be kicked out

According to B1.ro, Stelian Bujduveanu announced that following the new measures, a drastic reduction in the number of local police officers of the Local Police of Bucharest is expected. Currently, the municipality has 400 employees in the Local Police, but with the new changes, it is estimated that their number will decrease between 270 and 280.

“We consider that, at the level of Bucharest, it is atypical, it is different from other UATs, because it relates to 6500, according to the new provision, and the population of Bucharest has decreased to 1.7 million. And then, with these 2 components, we will have a drastic decrease of the Local Police of Bucharest”.

“Today, we have 400 employees at the Local Police level, from a total scheme of 500 positions. With the new modification, we go somewhere to 270-280 on our calculations, which would make it difficult for us to achieve our goals, those to release the sidewalks of cars, that of not allowing illegal construction to happen.

And here we have a proposal, because the municipality of Bucharest is atypical, I said. It is not like another UAT, even if the mayors of the sector have their own local police and are welcome in the current context. We, the municipality of Bucharest, have very, a lot of land to cover and then we need a much more reinforced and much more numerous police ”, said Bujduveanu.
