The head of the Romanian diplomacy met with Zelenski, in Kiev: we build a strategic partnership between Romania and Ukraine

The head of the Romanian diplomacy, Oana Țoiu, who was on a official visit to Kiev on Thursday, announced that he had met with President Volodimir Zelenski, who sent a new message of support, in a approach meant to build “a strategic partnership between Romania and Ukraine, for peace, strong democrats”. Ukraine is fighting for the security and freedom of Romania and the whole of Europe, stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“I met in Kiev today with the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski. I sent him a new message of support from Romania. Ukraine is fighting with courage and for the security and freedom of Romania and the whole of Europe,” she wrote, during the evening, in a message published on Facebook, to which she joined the photographs.
“It is a war that Ukraine not desired, but in which today it is fighting with determination in the name of the values in which Romania also believes – freedom, sovereignty and independence. As long as Ukraine resists and our security is better protected,” the head of Romanian diplomacy said.
“We develop together a strategic partnership for peace and prosperity. It is in the direct interest of Romania that it will be a fair and sustainable peace that ensures the independence, integrity and European path of Ukraine, as well as the stability and safety of our region,” added Țoiu.
What the head of Romanian diplomacy has also discussed with the Ukrainian leader:
- “We discussed with President Zelenski about how Romania and Ukraine can deepen the level of cooperation for the benefit and prosperity of both countries.
- The collaboration in the military and economic field are in the interest of the Romanian industry and the Romanian citizens.
- We also talked about the European path of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and about the fact that Romania is a partner for the two countries, so that we are all stronger and more prosperous in a united Europe.“
Earlier during the day, Țoiu had announced that he had started “the first bilateral visit of a Romanian foreign minister in Kiev” from the beginning of the war.

“I am here to convey a strong signal of solidarity with Ukraine. We do not remain indifferent to suffering and barbarism-not only because it is fair, but also because it is in our national interest to stop the Russian aggression,” said Oana Țoiu, also in a message published in the online environment.
“These days I will have discussions with Ukrainian officials of high rank on all the issues of common interest for Romania and Ukraine, and in the end I will visit Cernăuțiul, where I will meet with the important Romanian ethnic community,” she added.
The program of Oana Țoiu in Kiev started with a visit to the Kiev's Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, one year after it was bombarded by Russian forces. At the same time, the Minister also announced that he also visited the Super Resuroi School, who works within the National Cancer Institute, where he says he moved it “deeply” to determine children to continue their studies while following difficult treatments.
