Bronze monument to the mayor Nikolai Bulakin, who died in an accident, was erected in Abakan

In Abakan, a monument was erected by the mayor Nikolai Bulakin, who died in 2019.

Bronze sculpture on a pedestal from the Baltic granite was placed on Theater Square. The grand opening took place today, August 7.

The image of a walking mayor was performed by one of the best sculptors of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Andrei Murzin. The work was paid by private individuals.

Recall that Nikolai Bulakin got into an accident on 433 km of the R-257 Yenisei highway in the Minusinsky district on October 14, 2019. The car with which he managed drove into a ditch and crashed into a tree. According to preliminary data, the cause of death could be heart problems.

Nikolai Bulakin was 66 years old. He held the post of mayor of Abakan since April 1995. In 2018, he was offered to become the head of the Republic of Khakassia, but Nikolai Bulakin refused.
