The transfer of the customer portfolio from Alpha Bank to UniCredit Bank will take place between August 14 and 18. What do you need to know

The transfer of the customer portfolio natural and legal persons and the products and services from Alpha Bank Romania to UniCredit Bank, as an effect of the merger of the two banks will take place during the period August 14, 2025, 12.00 – 18 August 2025, 06.00UniCredit representatives reported on Wednesday. Therefore, Alpha Bank Romania customers will have full access to products and services transferred to UniCredit starting with the date of August 18, 2025.

The transfer process will involve certain temporary limitations or unavailability of access to some of their products, services or functionalities, I say UniCredit officials, who recommend the clients of Alpha Bank Romania to perform all the timely banking operations, taking into account the following calendar:

  • Alpha Bank Romania branches will work until the date of August 14, 2025, 3:00 pm, with the mention that access to the cashiers of the bank will only be allowed until 12 o'clock:00. Starting with the date of August 18, 2025, These units will resume their daily activity under the UniCredit brand.
  • The digital channels of Alpha Bank Romania can be used until On August 14, 2025, 5 pm:00. Customers can already activate their UniCredit Bank digital channels so they can use them starting with the date of August 18, 2025, 06 o'clock:00.
  • The accounts opened at Alpha Bank Romania can be used by the latest on the date of August 14, 2025, And the deadline for each currency, a settlement mode, type and payment instrument can be consulted here. The new iban codes of Accounts taken to UniCredit can be found at any time using the available converter from here.
  • cards issued by Alpha Bank Romania (including Evrixa!) will work for cash payments and withdrawals until the date of August 14, 23 pm:50, and for cash deposit operations by the date of August 14, 5:30 pm. Starting from August 15, 06:00 (Debit Cards) and 11:00 (credit cards) only the new UniCredit cards, which replace the ones from Alpha Bank Romania, will be used. The cards have already been delivered to customers and can be activated at any ATM (accessing the PIN change option) or calling the call-center 021 200 2752/021 200 2020.

UniCredit Bank recommends customers remain vigilant, because there is a risk of experiencing bank fraud. These attempts can occur in different forms: misleading messages, suspicious calls or hidden methods of obtaining unauthorized access to bank accounts.
