Konstantynówka, together with nearby Pokrowskie, is the main obstacle in the implementation of Moscow's ambition to take the entire Donetsk region.
In the spring of this year, according to the “Kiev Independent” website, there was a “seismic change” when the elite Russian drone unit – Rubikon reached this section of the front.
According to Deepstate, which deals with the analysis of the war situation in Ukraine, Russian forces approached six km from the city. Increasing Russian attacks make it difficult for Ukrainian brigades to provide logistics support for the city.
Despite the Russian progress, the Ukrainian army, however, still resisted the front line. Konstantynówka is the most extended center in the agglomeration of four cities, which are the logistic “spine” of the Ukrainian defense of the Donetsk District. In addition to the above -mentioned urban center, these are also: Kramatorsk, Słowiańsk and Drużkiwka.
In 2024, Russia went to Constantinówka with a new impetuschoosing the target of two key cities that stood in its road: time Jar in the north -east and Torećk in the southeast
As part of the summer offensive on Pokrowsk in the southwest, Russian forces approached the highway connecting the city with Konstantynówka and cut off the Ukrainian logistics between them.
The Russians say that they won the Jar time on July 31. Kiev has denied these claims so far, but the maps indicate that most of the destroyed city is currently under Russian control.
“The enemy will not stop”
The Russians benefit from the advantages of unmanned aerial vehicles on the front. Russian troops, as Ukrainian soldiers say, can now hit hiding hides in trees and clusters of greenery. Russia is currently attacking Constantine from three different directions.
The strengthening of Russia's control over the logistics routes of Ukraine coincides with the increasingly difficult situation in the ranks of Ukrainian infantry. Even the elite brigades suffer from the lack of soldiers. Difficulties with logistics are the direct result of the appearance of the Russian Rubikon unit in this sector.

“We had a situation in which the armored vehicle drove to our drones and began to shoot at us. The driver was killed, but the rest of the crew survived. At that moment we decided to improve our logistics using ground drones,” said one of the Ukrainian soldiers in an interview with Kyiv Independent.
As Russia continues to score points in this part of the Donetsk region, the defense of the Constantineczka is becoming more and more difficult, just like Pokrowska.
“They will definitely fight for Konstantynówka herself, the question is: when will this happen?” – said the Ukrainian commander in an interview with “Kyiv Independent”.
In his opinion, it depends on several factors, including From how strengthened Ukrainian forces are and whether they can effectively repel the Russians. It will also be crucial whether the soldiers fighting on the side of Kiev will have a chance to rest.
Meanwhile, young Ukrainian drone operators focus on their work, covering and keeping infantry units alive.
“I just see the real situation, it is very simple. The enemy will not stop, it will continue to occupy our cities and territories, if we do not do something. Now we are on the defensive and we do not allow it” – said the Ukrainian soldier in an interview with “Kyiv Independent”.
