– We are satisfied with the US decision to provide Ukraine with equipmentincluding ammunition to the Patriot air defense system, and we support the coordination of these activities by NATO – said the Swedish defense minister Pal Jonson.
– Speed is absolutely crucial. That is why we will make our contribution available immediately – said the Danish defense minister Troels Lund Poulsen, adding that if Kiev shows “the need for additional financing at a later date”, Copenhagen is ready to consider it also.
These initiatives are a consequence of the agreement concluded in July in the White House between NATO Secretary General Marek Rutte and US President Donald Trump, establishing a list of priority needs of Ukraine, under which NATO allies buy military equipment from US reserves for Kiev.
