A green turn on the roads. Poles registered more electricians than diesel

Three times, up to 7.6 percent In July, the share of fully electric cars in the new car market in Poland increased – according to the data of the Polish Association of Automotive Industry. Behind us is the first month in the history in which Poles have registered more new electricians than diesel.

According to PZPM data, in July 3815 new electric cars arrived in Poland – by 233 percent. more than in the same month last year. The participation of electricians increased from 2.7 to 7.6 percent.
When we add 2707 registration of plug-in hybrids, and thus enabling charging from the socket (+148 percent y/y), it turns out that in July more than every eighth new car bought on the Vistula was powered by electricity.
Since the beginning of the year, over 18,000 have arrived in our country. fully electric cars and 16 thousand plug-in hybrid, which in total translates into 10.2 percent. market share. A year ago it was less than 6 percent.
Up, though not so clearly, the popularity of classic and so -called soft hybrids (MHEV). During the first seven months of 2025, Poles registered 73.3 thousand respectively. and 87.6 thous. cars with such drives, which gave them a total of almost half (48 percent) shares in the Polish market of new cars. All cars with alternative drives are already responsible for over 61 percent. registration made in Poland.

They apparently lose gas cars. From the beginning of the year, 105.2 thousand came on Polish roads. new petrol residents (-8.8 percent y/y), which gave them 31.4 percent (-4.7 pp. R/y) market share.
Although, taking into account the data for the first seven months of the year, diesels still dominate over electricians, which at that time came over 25.4 thousand. (-8.8 percent y/y), in July alone Poles registered more fully electric passenger cars than new cars equipped with diesel engines (3758 pcs). This is the first such situation in history.
Kia already before Toyota
One more event can be seen in the July results published by PZPM. Although still far from the end of the year, there was a chance that for the first time in several years the most popular car among Polish individual clients will not be Toyota.
Both in July and in the first seven months of 2025, Poles most often chosen Sportage (820 pcs and 4708 pcs). The South Korean SUV thus overtook Toyota C-HR, which in July took fourth place (510 pcs) and from the beginning of the year she noted 4467 registered copies.
