“I wanted a better result”

Iga Swiak (24 years old, 3 WTA), the Wimbledon champion, was eliminated in the finals of the Montreal tournament, after a defeat in two sets, 6-7 (1), 3-6, against Clare Tauson (22 years, 19 WTA).

On Sunday, August 3, Clara Tauson managed to produce a big surprise in Montreal. The Danish broke the ice against Igăi Swiak and, after 3 consecutive defeats in front of it, managed a victory, which brought him the qualification in “quarters”.

In the quarterfinals, Clara Tauson will have another opponent of the Top 10 and the Grand Slam winner in 2025. It is about Americanca Madison Keys (30 years old, 8 WTA), Australian Open winner. In “optimal”, she defeated 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Karolina Muchova (28 years, 14 WTA).
