Presidential counselor Cristian Diaconescu, former Minister of Justice and former magistrate, appealed to the judicial institutions to treat “with great responsibility” and to talk to the other institutions about the proposed changes regarding the pensions of the magistrates. He says that he must “reach a solution that will accommodate this special pensions from a moral point of view,” reports News.ro.
“The confidence in justice, given that over a million people on a day of judgment, hoping in justice, is an essential element for the safety of each of us, but equally for the stability of a country. This theme must be taken very seriously,” said Cristian Diaconescu, on Sunday afternoon.
Diaconescu appeals to responsibility to the structures in the judicial system.
“There are these measures taken under the conditions of a very difficult economic situation. I think the problem should be assumed and treated with great responsibility, not necessarily by statements in one way or another, but for the institutions, by their leadership.

The former Minister of Justice also says that he understands what the positioning in a courtroom, responsibility, assuming, the enormous work of a magistrate means, but equally is a theme that, indeed, shows “dysfunctions can also be in public perception.”

Cristian Diaconescu also says that there is no “a war” between the presidency and the judicial system, stressing that President Nicuşor Dan supports Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in his approach regarding the proposed changes regarding the magistrates.
“Understanding a reality of fact is very necessary for the judicial system, it can return against them,” says Cristian Diaconescu.
