A floating hotel was filled with flames in Tulcea. The fire was extended to a second pontoon

A strong fire broke out on Sunday, August 3, at a floating pontoon on the cliff of Tulcea. At the time of the fire, there were no tourists inside, so no victims were registered, according to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Delta Tulcea.

“We were asked to intervene for the location and liquidation of a fire produced at a bedroom pontoon that manifests on the cliff of Tulcea municipality, next to the former fish factory”, The representatives of ISU Delta Tulcea transmitted.
Two extinguishing vehicles and a boat from the Operational Ships of the Tulcea Detachment were sent to the scene.
The firefighters found the floating hotel filled with flames, and the fire was extended to a second pontoon, affecting the roof area behind it, as well as another nearby boat. The fire was completely located and liquidated.

According to the publication of ZIUA by Constanța, one of the hypotheses taken is that the fire would have started from photovoltaic panels. The exact cause is to be set by firefighters, following a specialized investigation.
