Fraudsters can use the “public services” of the victims to apply for a tax deduction in their own account, according to the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which RIA Novosti got acquainted.
“Fraudsters can access the taxpayer account and apply for a deduction, indicating their account for receiving money,” the materials said.
In addition, having received the State Services account, scammers gain access to passport data, SNILS, credit history, and real estate information. With such information, scammers can call under the guise of representatives of different structures, luring money.
The department noted that now scammers most often do not call the first, but force the victim to initiate contact with anxiety messages about the alleged hacking of the “public services”.
