Daniel Dăianu: “You rarely find such a deficit if you are not drowned by a war”/ What do you think about the involvement of business people in the state reform.

The president of the Fiscal Council, Daniel Dăianu, said, at Digi24, that the deficit registered by Romania at the end of last year is a rare one for a country that did not go through a war or catastrophe, writes digi24.ro. Dăianu was reserved for the involvement of businessmen in the reform of the Romanian state, which has, first of all, the need for “experts”.
Daniel Dăianu believes that the deficit objective that the government has set for 2026 is “very ambitious”, taking into account that the package of fiscal-budgetary measures applies only for five months of this year. In addition, it starts from a deficit that, at the end of 2024, is found in countries that have gone through a war.
“I finished 2024 with something unique in the European Union and I also say in the international landscape. You rarely encounter such a deficit in the conditions in which you are not spoiled by a war, a catastrophe. And this year the execution does not work well. He welcomed the fact that the current government decided to correct the budget imbalances not only by reducing the state's expenses, which would have been illusory.

The president of the Fiscal Council warned that the involvement of businessmen in the state reform has its limits, this being appropriate, first of all, to the state companies.
