The Polish embassy in Croatia warns Poles. “Get water and food”


The long, Christmas weekend in Croatia will last from today (Friday, August 1) until Tuesday (August 5), when this country will celebrate the day of victory and gratitude for the homeland. It is a matter that the beginning of August has been the absolute peak of the holiday season in Croatia for years.
“Already this afternoon, and especially on Friday and Saturday, expect an increased traffic on Croatian roads. The most congested roads will certainly be the Zagreb A3 bypass towards Lučko, the A1 motorway with Lučko to Bosiljev, Rijeki A7 beltway and A8 road towards the Učka tunnel, Krk DC102 bridge with access roads, Adriatic DC8 from Split to Omiš and all other roads around larger cities on the Adriatic ” – writes the Polish embassy in Zagreb.
As the institution reminds, on August 2 and 4 in Sinj (a city in Central Croatia, about 25 km from Split), a great national concert of the local star Marko Perković Thompson is planned, which will be the main point of the victory day celebration. A concert in which up to 200,000 people can cause additional movement on the highway along the Croatian coast of the Adriatic in the area often chosen by tourists by Riviera Makarska.
“Remember that Croatia is an ideal direction for cars and attracts a large number of tourists, not only from Poland, who come with their own vehicles. For this reason, traffic jams and unfortunately accidents that additionally slow down and hinder driving” – reminds the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Zagreb.
Polish diplomats in Croatia have several valuable advice for tourists from our country.
“Plan your trip well and” leave your nerves “at home, get the right amount of water, fruit and snacks, and for traveling with children with social games, so that the journey is more pleasant. Driving, warn traffic rules, keep a safe distance between vehicles and instead of a mobile phone, use signposts and include notification in the radio about the current road situation, take a break” – we read on the Facebook profile of the embassy in Zagreb.
