Another case of an attempt by Femicide in Romania: a woman stabbed in the street by the former partner, one day after placing him for the police for aggression
A woman arrived at the hospital in serious condition after being stabbed in the street, in Buftea, by the former partner. The day before, she had filed a complaint to the police because the man hit her and threatened her, and the police issued a provisional protection order.
The police alert was given on Thursday evening, July 31, around 21.42, by neighbors. According to Observer News, the 43 -year -old woman was returning from work. The aggressor waited for her in the parking lot of the block, crushed on her and stabbed her with a knife.
“In the shortest time, police officers from the Buftea City Police went to the scene, together with the medical crews, who gave the woman to medical care, this being transported to the hospital for specialized medical care. Also, following the investigative-operative activities done by the police, it was 43 for 44 years, it was 44 years old, COMPORBIN ”, IPJ Ilfov said, in a statement.
After the attack, the man became unseen. He was caught after about an hour and a half from the time of the attack by a policeman from IPJ Ilfov, who was in his spare time. It is currently in the custody of the police.
The woman was taken to Elias Hospital in the Capital. It has the “liver reached” and is admitted to the ATI section in stable condition, the representatives of the medical unit said.
The day before, he had complained to the police
IPJ Ilfov says, in the official statement, that the woman arrived at the police, the day before the attack, to advertise that she had been agreed by the man. The woman received a protection order, but refused, say the authorities, the proposal to mount the man a monitoring bracelet.
“Prior to the deed reported, the 43 -year -old woman went to the Buftea City Police headquarters, to file a complaint against the 44 -year -old man, regarding the fact that, during the day of July 30, he would have been physically assaulted and threatened by the 44 -year -old man, thus, in all this time, the police, domestic violence, being issued a provisional protection order.
Also, the 43 -year -old woman was informed the possibility of mounting an electronic monitoring system on the aggressor, but she refused, ”said IPJ Ilfov.
30 cases of Femicide from the beginning of the year
Since the beginning of the year, in Romania at least 30 women have been killed, either by their partners from that time, or by former partners. On June 18, over 1,000 people participated in a protest in front of the government to ask the authorities to prevent gender violence, following the crime in Lipănești commune, Prahova, where a 22 -year -old was killed by the former partner, on the street, in front of children.
Previously, on June 3, several thousand people gathered in Victoriei Square to manifest violence against women, after the Cosmopolis crime, and to ask the Government additional measures to protect women. “We are tired of empty words”, “All over the police, anywhere justice”, “indifference nourishes violence” and “hundreds of women are dead, this is not right”-were some of the messages shouted by the protesters before the Government.
The appeal to Prostest came after the case of Theodora, the 23 -year -old shot dead in the Cosmopolis complex in Ilfov.
President Nicusor Dan has recently pronounced about this phenomenon, who believes that femical is “a serious problem” in Romania and that the Romanian state “does not give an impression of strength, firmness”.
