The war in the Gaza Strip and the humanitarian crisis deepened the split among the Republicans and in the movement of the magician regarding support for Israel – Axios said on Thursday. At the same time, surveys show that only every third American supports Israel's actions.

As Axios notes, against the background of the deepening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the hungry Palestinians, the Trump Magic Movement (Make America Great Again) has become “the unexpected epicenter of nationwide settlement on America's relations with Israel.”
The portal recalls statements, among others one of the leading representatives of the extreme republican wing in Congress, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who called Israel's actions “genocide”and another Congressmen, Thomas Massie said that “there is no rational argument” to support Israel's actions in Gaza by American taxpayers.
In recent days, Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized the scale of the Palestinian tragedy, calling their suffering a hunger defeat, contrary to Israel's claims.
According to Axios, younger supporters of Republicans and President Trump do not share the traditional views of the party into an alliance with Israel, but treat Jewish as one of many allies who use America and drain its resources.
“Changes in the Republican Party – combined with the overwhelming disapproval of Democrats towards the war in the Gaza Strip – can threaten the foundations and the future of the alliance of America with Israel, which has been ongoing for decades,” says Axios.
These changes – not only about Republicans – are visible in polls. According to Gallup's research published on Tuesday, support for Israel's activities among all Americans is at a record low level – 32 percent. Although among the Republicans this is still a solid majority – 71 percent, the Democrats voters (8 percent) and independent (25 %) are of the overwhelming majority are critical.
The study also showed that for the first time in the history of this poll, the absolute majority of respondents – 52 percent. – He has a negative opinion on the prime minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, while only 29 percent. supports him.
