The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, was asked on Thursday at the first News if he would agree with a possible discrimination of drug holding, responding that “we cannot show tolerance to this phenomenon” and that “the legislation must be firm.”
“I think our message to society must be a firm one – not drugs!”, Said the Minister of Justice.
He explained that at present there is no direct incrimination of the consumption itself.
“For consumption, at the moment, there is no incrimination. There is, according to Law 143 of 2000, the incrimination for consumption. Consumers are not directly incriminated, but the possession of substances is incriminated,” said Radu Marinescu.
The minister said that there are “many constituted working groups that analyze the quality of the legislation” and “the correlation between legislation and reality”.
“When things change, the legislation changes, but at the moment this drug of drugs destroys the youth, destroys bodies, destroys families. We cannot manifest tolerance to this phenomenon! We cannot manifest tolerance to human trafficking! Concluded the minister Radu Marinescu.
