Jeffrey Epstein's connections with Portugal. New media findings

Based on them, Portuguese media claimed on Wednesday that Epstein landed on the Azorean island of Santa Maria at least three times between 2002 and 2003. Who was Jeffrey Epstein's companion in the Azores?

How many times did Epstein land on Santa Maria Island?

When did Epstein commit suicide?

What does the email suggest about Epstein's ties to Portugal?

Portuguese television claims that in December the US authorities disclosed documents that proved that, apart from Epstein, on board the plane landing on Santa Maria, there were, among others, his companion and accomplice in sexual abuse, Ghislaine Maxwell. She is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

“Former US President Bill Clinton and actor Kevin Spacey, as well as other world-famous people, were also there,” SIC Noticias reported, recalling that in 2019 Epstein committed suicide in an American prison.

Will they investigate Epstein's connections with Portugal?

In turn, the Lisbon weekly “Sabado” reported on Wednesday the existence of an e-mail dated July 23, 2019, in which a private person was supposed to “lead the trail” to the American authorities regarding Epstein's connections with Portugal. The newspaper claims that this country could have been a destination for wealthy pedophiles.

An email in the form of a complaint, available on the website of the US Ministry of Justice, advises the services to investigate Epstein's possible connections with Portugal. In the letter titled “Jeffrey Epstein”, the author, whose identity has been hidden, suggests examining a 2019 documentary broadcast on Netflix about the disappearance of three-year-old British girl Madeleine McCann in the Portuguese Algarve, where she was vacationing with her parents and siblings in May 2007.

The author of the e-mail, adding that the little English girl was never found, points out that in the same documentary, Portuguese journalists recall the 2002 scandal regarding sexual abuse in the Casa Pia orphanage in Lisbon. The people suspected or convicted in this scandal included: famous Portuguese politicians and media people.

“The journalist (featured in this film – editor's note) states that it is common knowledge that American millionaires flew to Portugal on private planes to sexually abuse children,” wrote the author of the e-mail sent to the US justice system, adding that “this thread is worth investigating.”
