“The decision of the Romanian state is firm: Romania will not enter the war” and there is no panic for a possible involvement of the country in a military conflict, the government said on Tuesday, following a false video clip with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

“In the context of the emergence in the public space of false information attributed to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan regarding the alleged involvement of Romania in an armed conflict, which mislead the public opinion, the Government of Romania made the following details, in a press release:

  • “The decision of the Romanian state is firm: Romania will not enter the war.
  • Romania is a safe country, a full member of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), benefiting from solid security guarantees, which ensure the protection of its territory and its citizens.
  • There is no reason for panic or alarm regarding a possible involvement of Romania in a military conflict.
  • The state institutions carry out their activity in normal parameters, and the social and economic life of citizens and companies in Romania are carried out in conditions of complete safety. ”

The government also appeals to all citizens to inform themselves from official and verified sources.

“The spread of false information can generate unjustified panic and may seriously affect the public confidence climate. For correct and updated information, please see the official sites and channels of the Romanian state institutions,” the Executive said.

Previously on Tuesday, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) complained a false video clip with a so-called Romanian entrance to the war, which was promoted in the online environment.

“We report a misinformation recently distributed in the online environment, regarding the so-called” statements “, made with the help of artificial intelligence programs, from which it appears that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announces the entry of Romania into the war, starting in September 2025. The clip is false and is part of a public action. In the war, ”said MApN.

“This subject has no connection with reality, has no real basis and is still a destabilization attempt and enhancing the fear generated by the war of aggression that the Russian Federation currently conducts in Ukraine,” the army announced.
