Four tourists, including a child, died on Monday night in the naval accident in the area of the Gulf Musura, the Danube Delta, when a boat with 14 people on board was overturned. According to information communicated by authorities, the boat should not have been on the Danube at that time.
The boat with tourists overturned in the Bay of Musura had left with more passengers than he was allowed, said the Tulcea Zonal Captain, quoted by News.ro. Also, in the area the navigation was forbidden due to adverse weather conditions: the waves reached until two meters yesterday.

On Tuesday, representatives of the Romanian Naval Authority (ANR) announced that, on Monday, around 7.30 pm, a leisure craft that left the port of Sulina to the Bay of Musura, having 13 adults and a child, overturned in the area of the wreck “Turgut S.”, immediately after leaving the Sulina bar, against the bottom of the weather.
“Immediately after the accident occurred, a large search and rescue intervention was triggered. On the spot were mobilized crews and boats of the captain of Tulcea Port, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Tulcea, the Romanian Agency for Salvation of Human Life on the Sea (ARSVOM), the Tulcea Ambulance Service, as well as to the Tulcea County. by the locals, who intervened with several private boats ”, said ANR representatives.
They said that all 14 people on board the boat were recovered from the water. Four of them were declared dead by the medical crews on the spot.
There is a child between the four. The mother of the child, who also lost her husband in the accident, was taken to the hospital with fractures, according to Antena3 CNN.
The boat was not approved, navigation in the area was forbidden
According to Antena3 CNN sources, the boat that overturned was not approved for such leisure races.
Moreover, the ship had more passengers than it should have been because in all leisure boats the maximum allowed capacity is 12 persons, said the director of the Tulcea Zonal Captain, Dan Ichim, for News.ro.
At the same time, the Sulina bar had been declared impractical since Monday afternoon, due to adverse weather conditions.

He said that the investigation will accurately determine the cause of the naval accident, whether the boat was overturned by the strong wind or waves.
In this case, the investigations are carried out by the captain of the port Sulina under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanta Court.
