Israel reacts to the Ultimatum of Great Britain. “Award for Hamas”

“Israel rejects the statement of the Prime Minister of Great Britain. Changing the position of the British government at the moment – after the French Movement and response to internal political pressure – is a reward for Hamas and harms efforts to suspend weapons in the Gaza Strip and to develop an agreement on the release of hostages” – says the message.
The statement was issued shortly after the prime minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer announced that his country may recognize Palestine's statehood in September, during the session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Great Britain wants the recognition of the statehood of Palestine
Starmer clarified that the recognition of the sovereignty of Palestine will occur, unless Israel fulfills four conditions: “will take important steps to end the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip, reach a suspension of weapons, clearly declares the lack of intention to annex the Western shore and is involved in a long -term peace process, leading to a two -state solution.”
As Reuters informed, citing the source familiar with the case, before the announcement of the decision, the British had a telephone conversation with Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Last week, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris would also recognize the Palestinian state. Currently, 148 countries in the world recognize them, including – in Europe – including Poland, Spain and Bulgaria.
