The Sports Gazette publishes an extended video portrait, over three hours, of Mircea Lucescu, on the day when the coach turns 80. It is a unique documentary in the Romanian sports press, which involved a gigantic production effort, stretched for over 3 months.
A documentary that has gathered together the biggest names in Romanian football, dozens of former great footballers, as well as important journalists, a force of force meant to depene a career of about 7 decades in football, with good, with bad, with monumental achievements, as well as with controversy.
Gazeta reached all the great faults in the career of Mircea Lucescu, from the 80s, with Dinamo and the national team, passing to the Italian era and reaching the prolific periods of Galatasaray, Beșiktaș and Shahtior Donețk.

The journalists of the newspaper conducted an exhaustive interview with Mircea Lucescu, 4 hours, which they enriched with the testimonies from the names such as Sabău, Andone, Răzvan Raț, Gheorghe and Ianis Hagi, Răzvan Lucescu, Ionuț Lupescu, Răducioiu, Lobonț, Dărijo Srna, George Copos.
The documentary involved a titanic journalistic effort, training 15 GSP reporters, 6 video editors and 3 operators, coordinated by Sebastian Culea, the head of the Department of Special Reporters, and the reporter Justin Gafiuc.
In an era of turmoil and restricted attention, Gazeta presents a large project, thoroughly worked and illuminated with images discovered in the newspaper's miraculous archive.

Mircea Lucescu, honored by sincerity
It is important to say that the newspaper has tried to obtain a truthful, unpaved image of the way in which Mircea Lucescu's influence is perceived in Romanian football.
In the approximately 3 hours distilled in the documentary, dozens of stories, praise, even thanks, but also critics in a harsh tone and reproaches, even controversies are closed.
We are aware that a career of such length cannot leave you without enemies, and the newspaper, in its good tradition in the last decades, has permanently retained the objectivity and now let the reader judge. Without concessions.
