Hundreds of people were evacuated from three communes affected by floods in Neamț. A national road was surprised in Suceava County

About 700 people were evacuated on Sunday night from Monday from three communes affected by floods, from Neamţ county. Also, the national road 17B was covered by water.

The citizens from the localities Borca, Farcaşa and Poiana Teiului received RO-allert messages in which they were informed that it is necessary to self-evacate, given the increase of the flow above the level of danger of the Bistriţa river.
“About 560 people from Farcașa commune, 100 people from Borca commune and 30 from Poiana Teiului commune have been self-evacuated or evacuated. Also the national road 17B, from Neamț county, was flooded”, The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) said.

By around 2:00, 30 calls were received to request the help of the intervention forces, says ISU Neamt.

Several hundreds of calls were registered in the common dispatcher Iu-County Service of Ambulance Suceava, as a result of the manifestation of dangerous weather phenomena.
Eight people, including two children, were blocked, on Sunday night, in the house where they were, in Ostra, after the waters of a stream left Matca and surrounded the building. In order to save themselves, the tenants took refuge on the floor of the house, until the firefighters and local authorities reached them and evacuated them. Also, 33 people were evacuated from the town of Broşteni.
“During the manifestation of dangerous weather phenomena, two road bridges were damaged/destroyed in Frasin and Doroteia. Also, DN 177A was surprised between Ostra and Stulpicani, becoming impractical, and portions of DN17B were covered by alluviums or fallen trees”, Isu Suceava announces Monday morning.
In the interventions of Suceava county, in total, over 120 military personnel, with 45 technical means from ISU Suceava, participated, who were joined by 8 military personnel and 9 technical means from ISU Neamt and ISU Bistriţa.
The County Committee for Emergency Situations Suceava permanently monitors the evolution of the phenomena and ensures the coordination of all the structures involved in managing the situation.
