After Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu denied on Saturday that he was a “witness-vessel” in the bribe file from ANAF, DNA came out with a statement explaining how the “witness-denouncer” was offered.

“On February 2, 2018, the two representatives of SC Touring Eurolines SA were presented, on their own initiative, without a defender, at the DNA headquarters with a denunciation already drafted on behalf of one of them. They were heard on the same day by the case prosecutor, attributing the capacity of witnesses,” the DNA reports.

The Prosecutor's Office does not mention the names of the two representatives of the company, but according to the first answer offered on Friday for her G4Media they were identified as Dragoș Anastasiu and Cristian Băciucu.

“The quality of a denunciation witness is closely related to the useful information brought to the knowledge of the criminal prosecution body, in any form (denunciation/statement of witness), before it has been notified. The comprehensive details offered by the two were valorized and led to the trial and, subsequently, to the defendant, the defendant, denunciations, benefiting from the legal provisions applicable in this situation, respectively art.

Anastasiu asked to see the denunciation

Dragoș Anastasiu came out with a reply on Saturday after the DNA sent, in a response published on Friday by G4Media, that the current deputy prime minister and his business partner “had the capacity of denunciation” in the criminal case in which an ANAF inspector was convicted for taking bribes.

In a message published on Facebook, Deputy Prime Minister Anastasiu asks the anti-corruption parquet to provide him with the “alleged denunciation” that he registered in the file. The clarifications now transmitted by the DNA do not contain documents and do not clarify why in Anastasiu indictment it is not identified as a denouncer.

After this statement, Hotnews asked the DNA to clarify why only two denouncing witnesses, none of them Anastasiu, are mentioned.
