AFP information agencies, Associated Press and Reuters and the BBC station appealed to the Israeli authorities on Thursday to allow journalists to enter the Gaza Strip, as well as to leave this territory. These media are afraid of the fate of those journalists who live in Gaza and who are threatened by hunger.

“For many months, these independent journalists were the eyes and ears of the world in Gaza. Now they face the same dramatic conditions as the people they inform about,” says a statement published by the French AFP agency. The world media is based on local journalists in the Gaza Strip, because they are unable – in view of the prohibition – send reporters to the place.
“Once again, we call the Israeli authorities to allow journalists to enter Gaza and leave it. It is a fundamental matter for residents to reach adequate food supplies” – emphasized in the statement.
This is another appeal of this kind. On Monday, AFP appealed for help for her colleagues in Gaza. In June, over 130 media and organizations defending the rights of journalists demanded that Israel enable the media to access this territory.
Since the outbreak of the war, initiated by Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, foreign journalists cannot freely enter the Gaza Strip. Information from war -torn territory is still passed by local journalists. The Foreign Press Association in Israel and Palestinian territories (FPA) has repeatedly unsuccessfully appealed to the abolition of blockade for foreign media, and also lodged complaints in this case to the Supreme Court of Israel.
