The parties meaning and bear. PDF support Ana Ciceală in the race for the City Hall. The official launch of the candidacy will take place on Thursday, from 11:00, opposite the General City Hall, according to a press release.
“Along with Ana Ciceală will speak Andrei Macsut (President of Sens), Tudor Benga (former deputy/ president Urs.pdf), Florina Pressada (vice-president sense and former senators), Petruț Dociu (vice president of meaning) and Alina Dumitriu (civic activist),” a press release said.
Sens is a party established last year, around the independent MEP Nicu Stefănuță. After he managed to win a mandate from the position of independent in the European Parliament, the volunteers of his team decided to create this party. For the moment, Stefănuță is no member.
“Sens is a green and progressive political party, dedicated to promoting equity, social justice and environmental protection,” according to the party's description.
Urs.pdf is a party established in 2023 by a former USR deputy from Brasov, Tudor Benga.
Ana Ciceală ran several times for the City Hall of Sector 3. At the latest local elections, from 2024, Ciceală ranked 3rd, with 16% of the votes.
When the elections for a new mayor of the capital could take place
The elections for the General City Hall of the Capital must take place in the context in which Nicușor Dan took over the position of president of Romania. At this moment, Deputy Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu (PNL) took over the duties of mayor.
According to the law, the elections must be organized within 90 days from the vacancy of the position, but if this term is not respected there are no sanctions. At this moment, in the ruling coalition there are discussions to determine whether the elections for the Bucharest City Hall will be organized in the autumn of this year or in the spring of next year. For the elections to be organized, a government decision is required.
The parties in the ruling coalition did not announce their candidates for the position of general mayor. It is possible for USR and PNL to come up with a common candidate, according to HotNews sources, but this has not yet been clear. Neither Gold announced for the moment of the candidate for the General City Hall of the Capital.

Dan Trifu, vice president of the Eco-Civica Foundation, who fights for environmental protection and saving green spaces in Bucharest, announced in May that he will run for the Capital City Hall.
