Why does Ciprian Ciucu say that he will ask Nicușor Dan “on unofficial channels” if he wants to participate in his event as well, after he was at Cătălin Drula

Ciprian Ciucu, the PNL candidate for the Capital City Hall, told Prima News on Wednesday that he had “no reaction” when he saw that President Nicușor Dan was participating in the USR event to launch the candidacy of Cătălin Drula for the elections for the Capital City Hall, as “it was to be expected”.
When asked if he would also invite him to his event, Ciprian Ciucu said that regardless of whether he decides to invite the president or not, the decision will generate discussion and be “uproared” in the public space.
“I receive this question (…). Obviously it would be an honor for the president of Romania to come to you in the campaign, it's normal, isn't it? It's an honor, in itself, he's the president of Romania. If I didn't invite him, people would say, “oh, I didn't invite him, so he has something with the president”, and I didn't, I supported him in the second round with all my heart and I'm very glad that he's president, because the alternative was much, much worse (…) I invite, it turns out that I'm inviting him and I don't know what”, declared Ciprian Ciucu.
Under these conditions, the liberal claims, the most appropriate would be a preliminary discussion “on unofficial channels”.
“I think it would be best if we agreed through unofficial channels whether he wants to come or not. I will have to contact him and ask him if he would like to come”, added Ciprian Ciucu.
On the other hand, the PNL candidate said that he no longer needs an actual launch event.
“I'm released, I don't need any more releases. What are we talking about? Everyone knows I'm running, I've declared it. It's going to be an event like that, to mark some guidelines and dissociation in the program,” he added.
“I will not be the kind of candidate who sees Bucharest as a launching pad”
Ciprian Ciucu claims that he will run in the election on December 7 with a program that goes beyond the two and a half years left in the mandate of the future general mayor.
“It is a program for six years, because even in Sector 6 I managed to get results not immediately, after the first year, but after the first two, three, four years these results began to appear. My vision is for 10 years, to tell you the truth, that is, I will not be the type of candidate who sees Bucharest as a launching pad for other positions, to be very clear. I do not want to be the president of Romania, I am not interested”, he concluded Ciprian Ciucu.
