Initially, Friedrich Merz's government intended to buy from Americans two advanced Patriot anti -cancer defense systems and directly transfer them to Ukraine. Due to the fact that this weapon is not available immediately and you have to wait a few months for its delivery, it was decided on a different solution.

As Pistorius (SPD) explained, two Patriot sets currently serving in the Bundeswehra will go to Ukraine. Replacement launchers, purchased in the USA, will be delivered to Germany at a later date.

It is not clear whether the sets remaining in the RFN Army will reach Ukraine, or whether the Germans will reach for batteries that currently protect the airport in the Jasionka in Rzeszów, the most important hub of military assistance for Ukraine.

The Bundeswehr has so far handed up three out of the twelve Patriot anti -cancer defense systems. The next two Germans moved to Jasionka.

Ukraine, in order to be able to effectively defend against Russian attacks, needs additional five Patriot systems – Pistorius estimated.

Norway is also to participate in the “European mechanism” of buying these systems for Ukraine. It is possible that other countries will also join the initiative. Details in this matter are to be still agreed.

According to Pistorius's statement at the online meeting of the Ukrainian contact group, Germany will also finance some of the production of Ukrainian drones. “The first (machines) financed by Germany will be delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces in the coming days and can be used immediately,” the minister announced, quoted by DPA agencies.
