The French daily “Le Monde” assesses on Tuesday that the government in Poland “experiences difficult moments”, and the coalition that creates it is “divided” and “threatens its risk of paralysis.” The daily forecasts the difficult cohabitation of the government with President Elekt Karol Nawrocki.

“Le Monde” notes that the choice of Nawrocki (supported by PiS) was a surprise to the government, which is now “divided, unpopular and sharply criticized by the right.” He notes that the defeat of Rafał Trzaskowski (PO) in the election with a slight difference of voices “caused a wave of criticism, both inside the pro -European party (creating the coalition – PAP) and between them.”
According to the newspaper, the government's cooperation with the new president will be all the more difficult because the coalition “demonstrates the unprecedented fragility since it comes to power“.

On the other side of the political scene, “the extreme right -wing opposition comes out of the presidential election strengthened”, and Law and Justice and the Confederation “exert pressure as never before for the government.”
“The last weeks have been symptomatic for this new balance of power,” adds the daily.
He describes that “nationalist groups set for a mission to control the border with Germany”, PiS authorities “criticized the inaction of the government”, and the background of these events was “xenophobic rhetoric”. “The sharp debate that covered the country prompted the prime minister to restore inspection on the border with Germany and Lithuania on July 7,” reminds “Le Monde”.
He estimates that voting on the vote of trust in the Sejm on June 11 ended in the success of the government, but “it seems, it did not change the dynamics” of events.
