Megafon confirmed the status of the leader in the speed of mobile Internet in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Megafon showed the best results in the speed of mobile Internet among all mobile operators in Russia for the ninth time in a row.

This is evidenced by the results of an independent study of the International Company Ookla® for the first half of 2025. Megafon also demonstrated the best result in the latitude of the network, increasing the access area by more than 17 % compared to last year.

In the course of the study, OKLA® analytics analyzed 14.28 million measurements made on more than 2 million unique devices by BIG4 operators using the SpeedTest® application.

The median download speed in the Megafon network over the year increased by 12.36 %, and reached 43.74 Mbit/s, and loads – by 7.11 %, up to 11.45 Mbit/s. High indicators against the background of the growing volume of consumption of mobile Internet allowed Megafon to confirm the status of the leader for the ninth year in a row.

When assessing the coating, Ookla® specialists conducted a large -scale analysis of the quality of services on each area of 5 square meters. km through the territory of the country where there is cellular communication. For more accurate measurements in each section, data from at least two different devices were analyzed. In total, more than 2.15 billion measurements were studied, collected from 2.88 million gadgets in the regions of Russia. According to this parameter, Megaphone is also a leader for the fourth year in a row. In the first half of 2025, the operator coating area increased by 17.4 %.

High results were achieved thanks to the system work of the company's development company. MegaFon completed one of the largest stages of refarding in Moscow: this made it possible to increase the capacity of LTE and the median download speed – by 22 %, to 69.86 Mbit/s. Now the process of transition from outdated communication standards to 4G is in the suburbs, as well as in parallel in 74 regions of the country. Infrastructure updates also affected key highways M-11 (Neva), M-12 (Vostok) and M-4 (Don): now more than 200 new base stations provide the operation of digital services.

The study confirms the leadership of Megafon in the speed of mobile Internet and in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In the first half of 2025, the median download speed in the region amounted to 31.16 Mbit/s. This is the best indicator based on the results of more than 178 thousand tests made by mobile Internet users in the networks of all communication operators. Experts separately appreciated the work of the Internet in Krasnoyarsk – the median download speed here is 34.26 Mbps, and this is also the highest value among all operators.

The company has strengthened the leading position in the region due to the active development of infrastructure: only from the beginning of the year, the operator built and modernized more than 350 telecom objects in the region.

Despite external challenges, we continue to introduce advanced technological solutions: we increase the reliability of infrastructure due to new data centers.
