Summer is the time of active rest, travel and vivid impressions, and your gadget becomes an indispensable assistant in the capture of the moments and planning routes. However, high temperatures, direct sunlight and beach sand can seriously harm the device.
Alexander Dzhakoniy, head of the Center for Research and Testing of Megafon's Subscriber Equipment, told how to protect the smartphone.
Even a short -term stay of a smartphone under the scorching sun can become fatal: the screen fades, the battery degrades, and the processor slows down at +35 degrees. Externally, the device can work normally in such conditions, but in fact this leads to the accelerated wear of its components.
The specialist recommends avoiding direct contact of the gadget with sunlight, it is especially risky to leave it in a hot car, on a beach towel or open table. If the shadow is inaccessible, heat -resistant covers will help out, reducing the heating of the housing and protecting the display from burnout.

But the danger lurks not only from the outside. As the expert explains, summer heat enhances the load on the “insides” of the device: active processes, such as shooting 4K-video or launching graphically complex games, make the processor work at the limit, provoking overheating.
“If overheating has nevertheless happened, move the device into a shadow, turn off and let cool naturally. Attempts to speed up the process with ice or refrigerator are comparable to shock therapy – the consequences can be irreversible, ”warns Jacania.
High temperature is only one of the threats to smartphones in the summer. According to the expert, the main enemies of the gadgets are water and sand. Salted sea spray causes corrosion, and small grains of sand scratch the screen and clog the connectors. Use sealed covers or waterproof bags to protect the device from water and dust. If the sand got inside, it is better to contact specialists – attempts to clean the gadget with sharp objects can only aggravate the situation.
Even if the phone is positioned as a waterproof, this does not guarantee it complete safety. Most models with IP68 protection level are designed for short -term immersion in fresh water to a depth of 1-2 m and no more than 30 minutes. However, contact with sea water, sand or chlorinated water from the pool can disrupt the tightness of the device.
