Hołownia: I do not plan a coalition with PiS, which is still, what I cannot understand, proud of the things he did wrong

Talking to the opposition is now particularly important when you need to determine the possibilities of cooperation with her and the new president in key issues for Poland – wrote Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia. He added that he wanted to dynamic the activities of the ruling coalition, and assured that he was not planning a PiS coalition.

Hołownia on Sunday in his social media referred to criticism, which fell on him after Thursday's visit to PiS MEP Adam Bielan. The meeting was also attended by, among others President of this grouping Jarosław Kaczyński. Hołownia assessed that The polarization is “cancer of our policy”and noted that a conversation with both the most important politicians of the ruling coalition and opposition leaders is needed.

“I will do it and I will do it. Maybe I'm at the moment (may not forever) the only politician in cracked Poland who is able to do it. And all the more I am convinced that you have to” – he wrote.

The Polish leader 2050 emphasized that he wants to dynamize the activities of the ruling coalition and the restart of hope, which she brought together with the parliamentary elections in the autumn of 2023. “I do not plan a coalition with PiS, which is still, which I cannot understand, proud of the things he did wrong” – he assured.

“Talking to the opposition seems to me particularly important now, when you have to determine whether – with all obvious differences – there are tangential points. What are the possibilities of cooperation with the opposition, including the new president, in key issues for Poland, such as the army, Ukraine, and relations with the USA. They concern both one and the other, and the third Poland, which did not fit in these or in those 10 million” – said the Marshal of the Sejm.

Hołownia noted that insults pouring on him both from coalition partners and their supporters do not impress him, and coalifying the coalition, he did not sign up for the sectin which contact with someone from the outside means “taking ritual impurities”. He admitted, however, that next time he would choose the meeting places wiser.

“I say it clearly, simple, hard: I'm interested in peace, not war. I intend to consistently follow this path with those who wish the same and all of us” – wrote the politician.

He also assured that in November he would “leave the Sejm” in a better condition than he found him, covering the marshal's chair – open to the media and visitors, considering the opposition projects in which the marshal invites you to participate in the senior conventions not only of club representatives, but also by parliamentary circles.

During the Sunday press conference, the PiS president was also asked for a meeting with Hołownia, who said: “You need Poland – this word is completely justified – to save. It was about the fact that we talked about it.”

On Friday, the meeting of Prime Minister Donald Tusk took place with the leaders of the coalition groups: Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL), Szymon Hołownia (Poland 2050) and Włodzimierz Czarzasty (Nowa Lewica), at which he presented them with proposals for the reconstruction of the government, which would be reached in mid-July. “As you can see, maintaining a coalition is difficult, but possible, just like the reconstruction of the government and agreeing the strategy that will allow you to go to the offensive after losing in the presidential election. Of course, it requires courage and loyalty. Despite the difficulties you know, I will accomplish this task” – commented on Saturday the head of government on Platform X. (PAP)
