A fire broke out on Saturday, at noon, on the terrace of the AFI Palace Cotroceni mall in Bucharest, said ISU, which intervened to extinguish the flames that caused large smoke releases. No person was injured, according to the latest information from firefighters.

According to firefighters, there are “smoke releases at the level of some rooms within the cinema”, where it intervenes from the inside. At this time the firefighters cooperate with the police to fluidize the traffic at the exit of the mall for those who evacuate the vehicles.
Images from the exit of the parking lot shows a blockage of the cars that want to leave and they hear horns of those who want to get out of there as soon as possible.
Firefighters said that at this time the smoke releases at the terrace level have been considerably reduced.
“We continue to work for the location of the fire and the release of the smoke inside the mall. So far there are no injured persons,” added ISU.
“From the preliminary information, the fire manifests itself on the roof, above a technical floor, in the central area of this mall. It is acting for the evacuation of the persons in the mall, through the search-rescue teams set up inside. Also, an intervention device has been made,” according to the latest information from the authorities.

“At the arrival of the first fire crews, the fire was manifested with open flame and large smoke releases at the level of the terrace-type roof,” said ISU Bucharest-Ilfov.
At this moment there are no details about the cause of the fire. It is not known how many people were on the terrace of the mall on Timișoara Boulevard.
“In order to manage the emergency situation, there were alert: 10 extinguishing vehicles, 2 intervention and rescue vehicles from height, the special rescue detachment, a nitrogen extinguishing vehicle and 5 SMURD crews,” the authorities report.
