Every summer resident knows: evening rest depends not only on the weather, but also on protection from insects. If store-bought repellents cause allergies, and there is no time to look for natural analogues, there is a simple solution. You will need soap, water and a readily available drug from the pharmacy.
Rub a bar of laundry soap, dissolve it in warm water until liquid and add fifteen drops of clove or eucalyptus tincture. The solution should be homogeneous so as not to leave marks on clothes. These aromas interrupt the human smell and repel insects, especially in calm, windless weather.
Treat exposed skin and cuffs of clothing 10–15 minutes before going outside; the composition will create an invisible barrier. This method is especially effective on warm May evenings, when insects are active at dusk. It also works great in damp areas or near water where midge concentrations tend to be higher.
Mosquitoes, midges and small horse flies usually do not fly to such a composition. But if you follow the proportions and do not apply to damaged skin, the product remains safe for long-term use.
