“According to the proposal this week, yes, it extends by a year to freeze wages and pensions. said the Deputy Prime Minister in the Insider Insider show on Prima TV, where he stated that the measure is painful, but necessary.

Asked about the trade union dissatisfaction and the threats with mass protests, Tanczos Barna excluded the possibility of a national blockage, declaring that the Government will continue to pay pensions and wages.

The Deputy Prime Minister also remembered his 2005 experience, when he negotiated with the CFR unions during a large strike.

“Excluded! I participated in many discussions, I did the baptism, so to speak, somewhere in 2005 with the CFR that stopped the trains. I was appointed as Secretary of State to take the negotiations with CFRs, with the CFR unions, which were the strongest unions in the country. They came to work, we found compromises. Barna said.

Barna: “N. Dan insistently asked not to increase VAT, but the coalition did not accept the alternatives”

During the same interview, Barna said that President Nicușor Dan insisted that VAT would not be increased, but the alternative solutions discussed in the coalition were not accepted.

According to him, President Nicușor Dan repeatedly asked that the value added tax (VAT) would not be increased, in order to respect his promises made in the election campaign, but the ruling coalition did not accept the alternative solutions that could have offset the lack of VAT.
