Russians stopped buying trips to Azerbaijan

The deterioration of the political situation between Russia and Azerbaijan significantly affected the tourism industry. The Russians stopped buying trips to Baku. Demand fell by 40%. This was told by the vice-president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) Yuri Barzykin.
“This decline by 40% is an almost complete absence of new reservations in travel agencies. To date, new applications in Baku have practically disappeared. People are waiting for clarification of the situation, ”said Barzykin.
Those who have already arranged a trip in advance, hope that the situation will be quickly resolved. Therefore, at the moment there are no mass failures in such cases, noted Barzykin.
Recall that on July 2, the Russian diplomatic mission called on Russian citizens who are in Azerbaijan, to observe increased caution and prudence. This happened after On June 30, the security forces of Azerbaijan conducted searches at the office of the editorial office of Sputnik Azerbaijan in Baku. Later it became known that two journalists were detained: the head of the editors Igor Kartov and chief editor Yevgeny Belousov.
On July 2, the Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow sees Kyiv’s participation in attempts to damage the relations of Russia and Azerbaijan and provoke tension between countries.
