Russia is the first country in the world that recognized the power of the Taliban in Afghanistan


The department reported that the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Rudenko accepted copies of the charity letters of the appointed ambassador of the Islamic emirate Afghanistan to the Russian Federation Gul Hassan. Moscow announced the “significant prospects” of interaction with the regime in the trade and economic direction with an emphasis on projects in the field of energy, transport, agriculture, infrastructure.

“We believe that the act of official recognition of the Islamic Emirate Government Afghanistan will give impetus to the development of productive bilateral cooperation of our countries in various fields,” the report said.



The Russian propaganda agency TASS published a photo, as they say, with the flag introduced by the Taliban first posted over the embassy in Moscow.



Context

The Taliban movement was created in 1994, in 1996-2001 it was in power in Afghanistan, and controlled most of the country.
