The Diogo Jota and Andre Silva brothers were leading a Lamborghini Huracan

They were in a Lamborghini Huracan, writes the Iberian press, and The Sun tabloid reveals that the respective model, made between 2014 and 2024, was recalled in numerous service due to the many safety issues.

Although highly sought after by celebrities, with no less than 25,000 units sold worldwide, Huracan gave enough headaches to the Italian builder. Among the problems: adjustments of the headlights that could cause brilliance and reduced visibility, a fault of warning the seat belt.

Protective support mounted wrong! The problem was detected by a worker, in the factory

Otherwise, a recall in service from September 2024 affected 39 copies of the Huracán Evo Spyder model. The reason? Lamborghini acknowledged that a protective support in case of impact – essential for the frontal structural element – was installed on the wrong side, due to a human error in the factory in Sant'agata Bolognese!

The affected cars had been built between November 20, 2023 and July 26, 2024. That defect, discovered, seems to be a factory worker, led Lamborghini to block production and inspect the respective diseases.

A Horizontal headlight adjustment function has been permanently eliminated

Previously, in November 2023, Lamborghini recalled 7,805 Huracán models built between July 30, 2014 and October 30, 2023. The problem? A function of the infotainment system that allowed drivers to adjust the headlights on the horizontal – including in the “tourist mode” for driving on the left. A feature not allowed by the US Federal Safety Norms.

This function could lead to the blindness of the drivers who came from the opposite direction and to reduce the visibility of the one who accessed it. To remedy the situation, Lamborghini has launched a software update to simply eliminate the function.

There was concern that the doors could open wrong in case of emergency!

Also, certain Huracán Coupé and Spyder models of 2021 and 2023 were recalled to Lamborghini representations due to a problem related to the fact that the safety clamp of the door unlock cable could have been improperly fixed during the assembly. There was concern that the doors could open wrong in case of emergency.

Regarding the accident of the brothers Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, it seems that their bolus caught fire after leaving the decor, as a result of the explosion of a tire. The two were heading to Santander, where they intended to take the ferry to the UK. Doctors had recommended Jota not to take the plane, because she had lung problems.
