UEFA harshly sanctioned two top teams in the Premier League, Chelsea and Aston Villa because of the financial fair play. The Londoners were fined 31 million euros, and the Birmingham club for 11 million euros, and this can only be a warning for even higher sanctions.
Barcelona was also fined 15 million euros because of the same irregularity.

Chelsea, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Lyon and AS Roma, sanctioned by UEFA
Due to the non-observance of the rules regarding the income and expenses in football, namely the breach of financial fair play, Chelsea and Aston Villa could receive even greater sanctions if they continue in the same style.
Chelsea received a fine with a suspension of another 60 million euros, and Aston Villa another 15 million, reports Sportal.blic.rs. Both English clubs have accepted the agreements with UEFA.
Chelsea will be under the UEFA magnifying glass in the next four years and will be subject to additional restrictions on the registration of new players in Europe. The London club has agreed to change its way of operating financially, and if it is not related to this commitment, it could be excluded from UEFA competitions.
Aston Villa has escaped easier, because this is the first time this happens, but it will also be monitored.
Barcelona also received a fine of 15 million euros, Lyon a fine of 12.5 million euros, and AS Roma escaped “the cheapest”, with 3 million euros.
It was found that all these clubs violated the rules and received warnings for much higher sanctions.
In fact, Lyon was relegated from Ligue 1 due to financial problems. The French could still have a chance to avoid administrative relegation in Ligue 2 if they will feed their account with 100 million euros until July 10.
