On Thursday, President Elekt, Karol Nawrocki, announced the names of the management of the National Security Bureau. Sławomir Cenckiewicz is headed by the BBN. In turn, his deputies will be General Andrzej Kowalski and General Mirosław Bryś.
– I am convinced that the presented composition of the National Security Bureau will be a good partner to discuss with the Ministry of National Defense, but above all, it guarantees us, Poles, that the security of the Polish state will be in the hands of experienced and responsible people – said Nawrocki.

Cenckiewicz is a historian of the latest times. He focused his scientific work primarily on special services, as well as political emigration. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Historical Department of the University of Gdańsk. He began his professional career in the 1990s from the position of editor -in -chief of the religious monthly “Always faithful”.
Later, Cenckiewicz took up work in many state and cultural institutions. He was, among others Director of the Military Historical Office, as well as a member of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance.

The future head of the National Security Bureau has approximately 200 publications scientific, popular science and source. In addition, he wrote many books. In 2007, he was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit for “exemplary, extremely conscientious performance of duties arising from professional work” by the then President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński.
Cenckiewicz is also a co -author of the biography of Lech Kaczyński. In addition, he also participated in many well -known Polish periodicals. His texts were published in such titles as “Rzeczpospolita”, “Wprost”, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “I think Rz” or “Do Rzeczy”.

First of all, his commitment to the Commission for Research of Russian influence on Poland's internal security in 2007-2022 can be recalled. Cenckiewicz even became its chairman. The basis of the commission's activities was the famous “Lex Anti-Tusk” Act, which was to allow eliminating politicians from public life.
This act was criticized by many media and publicists, because it was considered an attempt to hit the leader of the opposition at the time, Donald Tusk. She was also criticized by part of the legal environment, which believed that it was unconstitutional.

Recently, Cenckiewicz has been loud in connection with prosecutor's allegations of aid in revealing by the former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, secret defense plans “Warta”, which he was set for him. The future head of the National Security Bureau does not admit the accused of the crime. It is punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years. – I got the charges and I am particularly proud of them – said Cenckiewicz after hearing the allegations. “I don't regret anything, of course I didn't confess to any crimes,” he added.
