A bear with chickens was seen in the area of the Mălăieşti cabin in the Bucegi Mountains, which climb the route to Padina Crucii, so that the mountain rescuers from Brasov transmitted a series of recommendations for tourists, according to news.ro.

“The presence of a bear with two chickens was reported in the area on the left side of the path, about 300 meters from the cottage.

According to lifeguards, the section in the cottage area is narrow, with reduced visibility and limited possibilities of maneuver, and, in this context, “an unexpected meeting with the wild animal could become difficult to manage from the perspective of reaction time or withdrawal.”

Recommendations for tourists

Salvamont Brasov recommends to tourists in the area to avoid moving alone on this segment of the route, to make their presence felt by constant noises, but to avoid screams or the use of firecrackers, who can scare the chicks and cause them to run on the path, which could generate a defensive reaction.

Other recommendations include observing the marked route and using the self-defense spray.

Last year, a 19 -year -old was killed on the Little Jepii in the Bucegi Massif after being attacked by an extremely aggressive bear. The death of the young woman resumed the discussions about the management of the problem of bears, whose number has increased uncontrolled, which descends into localities and attacking people.
