US President Donald Trump on Tuesday gave Israel that he agreed to complete the terms of a 60 -day armistice with the Palestinian Islamist movement in the Gaza strip, AFP reports.
“Israel has accepted the necessary conditions for completing the 60 -day armistice, during which time we will work with all parties to put an end to the war,” the US president wrote on the SA TRUTH social platform, after a meeting between American and Israeli officials in Washington.
Donald Trump asked Hamas on Tuesday to accept a 'final proposal' for a armistice in the Gaza strip, which will be presented soon.
'Qatares and the Egyptians, who have worked intensely to contribute to peace, will present this final proposal,' wrote the US president on the SA TRUTH Social Platform.
“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas will accept this agreement, because the situation will not improve – it will be worse,” he warned.
The war broke out after the militants led by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas took 251 hostages and killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians, in an attack committed on October 7, 2023. The military campaign of Israel has since killed almost 55,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, according to the medical authorities in Fâșia Gaza. (Agerpres)
