,,Careful! False! Some citizens receive Robot calls from the Șor Party, who invite people against a supposed meeting to support the Moldova-EU summit. It's a gross fake! PAS has never organized protests or meetings for payment, as opposed to this party, out of the law. We ask the citizens to be vigilant and to report such cases to the police ”, The Party Action and Solidarity (PAS) have announced.
The forgeries from the members of the criminal group led by the fugitive ilan Șor oligarch are launched a few days before the Moldova-EU summit will be held in Chisinau.
Kiev's warning
Recently, the Ukraine Foreign Intelligence Service warned that the Kremlin intensified the hybrid operations against Chisinau around the Moldova-EU summit, the campaign being coordinated by the first deputy head of the administration of the Russian Federation.
The Kremlin operation includes several directions, one of them aimed at media manipulations. Specifically, the “Matrioşka” Pro-Kremlin boots network distribute false videos, presented as products of important European media institutions, such as Deutsche Welle, Spiegel, Euronews, Business Insider, in order to discredit Maia Sandu.
In one of the videos it is stated that the vice-president of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, refused to go to Chisinau to participate in the Summit, due to a conflict with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the fear of losing his position.
In other videos, spread massively from June 23, the summit is mentioned directly. For example, in one of them, presented as a material of the Euronews publication, it is stated that the Romanian intelligence services warned the leaders of the European countries about a terrorist threat during the summit.
In another video, camouflaged under the content of the French publication Le Point, it is claimed that the leaders of the European Union are dissatisfied with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and that it would be prepared to dismiss it on the grounds that it failed to spread the “European values” in the country.
Another direction of the campaign concerns diplomatic pressures. Thus, on June 25, Russia detained two Moldovan citizens for espionage and refused consular access. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova rejected the accusations, qualifying them as unfounded and politically motivated.
Another component of the operation refers to threats to the Security. Under the pretext of participating in a kickboxing championship, Russian athletes and Belaruși with a military past have tried to reach Chisinau.
European officials, wait in the Republic of Moldova
The first summit of Moldova – the European Union will take place on July 4 in Chisinau. The event will attend several European officials, including the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The discussions will concern the process of accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU and attracting investments.
