Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timișoara and the interim president of the USR, expressed the availability of the party to enter the government with the other pro -European formations, on Friday, at Digi 24, and said that “the division of ministries is done at the end of the negotiations”.

“Our red line is not an ideological one (…) Citizens, not only for state privileges, these challenges do not disappear just because USR has a more flexible negotiation line, ”said Dominic Fritz.

Asked if he would like to receive a portfolio in the new Government, the interim president of the USR said: “No, no. I am the mayor of Timisoara, I was just a large majority and I wait to continue my mandate here, in Timisoara.”

Dominic Fritz was asked if a government can be made even without Ilie Bolojan, the first option of the chosen president, Nicușor Dan, for the position of prime minister.

“Ilie Bolojan is the prime minister wanted by Nicușor Dan. Even I said in the campaign that he is a tandem in which I trust and is a man who we know that a majority of Romanians trust him. And capable – and I think that at this moment Ilie Bolojan, at these two categories, has no competition, ”said Dominic Fritz.

“Now the country is in such a big crisis that no one can afford to stay in a corner.”

Referring to relations with PSD and PNL, the USR leader said that “trust is built”, and he and his colleagues in the party are “open to build this confidence.”

“We are not naive, we are definitely not stupid. We have worked with some of them, we have collaborated in the past and I have seen how, several times, they have violated certain promises, but now the country is in such a big crisis that no one can afford to be in a corner. Now we have to go to the table, we have to go to the table, and we have to go, Politics and find this consensus how to remove the country not only from the economic crisis, but in fact from the democratic crisis we are in, and USR will be a mature and reliable partner in this mission, ”Fritz continued.

He said he was confident in the chances of success of the negotiations.

“The USR wants to government to support Nicușor Dan, who needs an arm in Parliament, but of course we do not do this without fighting for the Romanians' interests and of course this will be our line. We have to defend these interests. We must deliver for the needs of the citizens of this country. Mission ”, concluded Dominic Fritz.

Elected President Nicușor Dan-who will take the investment oath on Monday-said on Friday that Monday afternoon will start consultations with the parliamentary parties for the formation of the new government, and they will last 3-4 weeks.
