“Today, the new chairmanship of the EU Council – the presidency of Denmark, has begun, and it is important for us that this period – and this is the next six months – has become really productive in safety matters, in particular for the defense industry, and in matters of sanctions, so that all the pressure against Russia really worked – and it worked so as to end this war,” Zelensky said.
According to him, it is necessary to “really limit the Russian potential of aggression.”
“We have clear information-and the partners confirm this-that the sanctions for Russia are really painful, and if the pressure is still increased, this will encourage Russia to really think about something else, except the front and hatred of neighbors,” the President of Ukraine said.
Zelensky emphasized that work is going on in the “Ukrainian sanctions.”
“Soon there will be new decisions of the National Security and Defense Council for sanctions. The relevant materials are already being prepared,” he announced.
Earlier today, the Office of the President of Ukraine informed the introduction of three decisions of the National Security and Defense Council on the synchronization of Ukrainian sanctions with the sanctions of the European Union in relation to 403 individuals and 188 legal entities.
“Ukraine synchronized its sanctions with the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th sanctions packages of the EU [относительно РФ]. The decision related to persons involved in the violation of human rights in Belarus and the decisions adopted by the European Union in 2011 and 2020–2025 in relation to persons involved in the violation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the military support of Russia in the war against Ukraine, ”the release said.

Sanctions against Russia are introduced in response to its attack on Ukraine since 2014. After a full -scale invasion of Russian troops on February 24, 2022, restrictions were significantly expanded.
