May 17, 1938

The newspaper Birobidzhan Zvezda (12+) on May 17, 1938 informed its readers that the first election assembly of the groups of Birobidzhan enterprises to nominate candidates for deputies of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR from the Birobidzhan Electoral District. The meeting was attended by 900 people, the meeting was opened by the secretary of the party committee of the sewing factory of Comrade. Khaitovich.

The meeting unanimously outlined by candidates for deputies of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR comrades I.V. Stalin, V. M. Molotov, L. M. Kaganovich, K.E. Voroshilova, N. I. Yezhova, V.K. Blucher, G. M. Dimitrova and N.S. Bigler.

The Order of the “Red Banner of Labor” was awarded: the teacher of the elementary school of the collective farm named after Stalin of the Stalin District Kuzmina Antonina Anufrievna, director of the Far Eastern Collective Committee of the Far Eastern collective farm of the Smidovicsky district Lichtenstein Mikhail Israilevich, the teacher of the Lenin Evodokiya Ivanovna, the Leninsky rural school teacher Maria Kirillovna, the teacher of the Londok secondary school, Yuryeva Maria Maria Maria Leontyevna.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” on May 17, 2005 wrote about awarding for merits in the field of healthcare and many years of conscientious work. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the honorary title “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation” was awarded the head of the department of the municipal healthcare institution “Obluschensk District Hospital” Alexander Vasilievich Lavrentiev.

The newspaper reported that the EAO took part in the Internet contest of the All-Russian relay race “Equal for Victory”, in which 84 regions participated. The website of the Jewish Autonomous Region, dedicated to the role of the region during the Great Patriotic War, was recognized as one of the best in the country. We noted the site as one of the most striking in content and readable. As a result, the EAO remained second in the All-Russian competition of Internet pages dedicated to the Great Victory.

The newspaper published a large article about the participant in World War II, the oldest teacher and artist of the region Nikolai Grigoryevich Sidorov.

In 1942, Nikolai got to the front and he was determined in the 151st reserve rifle regiment, which stood in the village. Sopka G. Birobidzhan. He got into engineering troops, in sappers, in the army recognized electrical engineering, learned to build houses, bunks and dot. In 1945, a great victory came in the West, in Europe, and a short, bloody war in the Far East began. Sepere Nikolay Sidorov got into Mancheuria, had to prepare the capture of the airfield, and to bring crossings through Chinese rivers. After the war ended, the part where Nikolai Sidorov served, stood in the village of Leninskoye. There he simultaneously engaged in the construction of fortifications in the Amur Islands, now transferred to China, wrote notes to army newspapers.

After demobilization, Nikolai Grigoryevich was invited to become the director of the House of Culture in the village of Leninskoye. Soon he entered the pedagogical school in Birobidzhan at the art and graphic department. After the war, the teachers on the Hudgraph was not enough and Nikolai was offered, as the best student, to conduct special subjects. So he worked there for 17 years. After that, he graduated from the History Department of the Khabarovsk Pedagogical Institute.

After 17 years of work in the pedagogical school, Nikolai Grigoryevich moved to the newly opened technical school of light industry, where he worked until retirement.

He had been seriously engaged in photography for 25 years. He retired, he again took up painting. He wrote more landscapes with oil, began to participate in city art exhibitions. Over the years, vision began to deteriorate, and his hands demanded work, and the artist switched to graphics. Then he ceased to cope with this, therefore, instead of painting, Nikolai became interested in decorative and applied art.

In the reference and information publication “Birobidzhana Streets: according to the documents of the State Archive of the Jewish Autonomous Region” (0+), information was posted that by order of the head of the city administration of Birobidzhan dated May 17, 1995 No. 296, the newly planned street in the multi-storey building of the village of Birobidzhan-II was named by the name Korolenko.

The street is named after the Russian writer, publicist, journalist, public figure, who deserved recognition of his human rights activities, both during the years of tsarist power and during the civil war and Soviet power. The writer was a hot supporter of the public purpose of literature.

In the last years of his life, V. Korolenko worked on a large autobiographical work “History of my contemporary” (6+). The work remains incomplete.
