The Iranian ambassador at the UN Amir Said Iwani declared that his country “would never cease to enrich uranium.” The diplomat argued in an interview with CBS American television that Tehran has a “inalienable right” as a state-state state of nuclear weapons (NPT).

“We are a responsible member of the NPT. According to this treaty, we have (also) mutual rights. This means that (compliance) the right of one hand will be the other” – he emphasized. He added that belonging to NPT guarantees his signatories the freedom to “research and development as well as uranium production”, as well as “legal protection of such activities by the International Atomic Energy Agency (Maea) and technical cooperation in the field of development programs”.
Idressed also emphasized that enriching uranium is a “inalienable law” that Iran wants to implement. He assured that “such activities would always be conducted in a peaceful way.” Iran's ambassador at the UN denied that Tehran was calling for the arrest of the head of Maea Rafael Grossi, as reported by the Iranian newspaper “Kayhan”. Idressed, he announced that Agency inspectors who stay in Iran are “safe (…), but their activities were suspended.”
The Iranian diplomat also announced that his country is ready to resume negotiations with the US authorities about the Iranian nuclear program, but rejects unconditional proposals.
“If (Americans) are ready for prognosis, then we are also ready for them, but if they want to dictate us, then any negotiations are not possible,” he said.
On Friday, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Aragczi found it “senseless” appeals of the international community that Tehran would agree to the inspections of his nuclear facilities by Maea. He appealed for their conduct, among others US President Donald Trump, who also announced that he would again consider taking military actions against Iran, if Tehran resumed the enrichment of uranium with a disturbing level.
