In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, social activists checked the “green” production of aluminum at the Boguchansky factory

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a visiting meeting of the Public Council was held at the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory at the Boguchansky Aluminum Plant as part of the Open Plant project. Its participants were able to see the production of “green” aluminum.

Back in February 2025, after visiting the construction site of the new buildings of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant, social activists caught fire to verify the environmental friendliness of future production. That is why they went to BOAZ, where almost the same technologies are used, only more energy -intensive (RA550 electrolyzers on CRAZ and RA300B buildings on BoAZ)

Director of the Boguchansky Aluminum Plant Andrei Kartavtsev noted that the plant is always open to dialogue: “I am very happy with such a sincere great interest in our enterprise from the public.”

BOAZ is currently one of the most environmentally friendly and high -tech aluminum industries. The energy of the hydroelectric power station helps to produce the so -called “green” aluminum – products with a low carbon following. The gas cleaning system captures up to 99.8% of the emissions. The guests were convinced of a high degree of production automation, looked at the work of the electrolysis workshop and saw the process of draining the metal. In the sanitary-industrial laboratory, guests showed work with samples of water, soil, atmospheric air.

“The plant left a very pleasant impression. Especially the team. Competent specialists answered our questions, all friendly and open. We were convinced that very high standards of technology, production, and labor protection are used here. This is an enterprise that can really be called a model for the rest. I have never seen this in non -ferrous metallurgy, ”said Nikolai Alpatov, deputy chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology of the region.

After the excursion was completed, the participants in the visiting meeting asked all the questions that interest them – about the booster system of gas and the operation of the gas cleaning system, landscaping the territory and projects of environmental education. Communication with the leadership of the plant lasted more than an hour.

Especially the price of the openness of data on emissions and energy efficiency. This is proving that “green” metallurgy is not a utopia, but a working model.
