After saying he was withdrawing from the light of political spotlights, Elon Musk returned to the foreground. While the Senate debated the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” law of President Donald Trump on Monday, Musk launched a harsh warning through his social platform X, CNN reports.

“Every member of the Congress that campaigned to reduce government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their heads of shame! And they will lose their primary choices next year if this is the last thing I do on this land,” wrote Musk on X.

A few hours later, he went on, declaring on X that if “the law of crazy expenses passes, the American party will be formed the next day.”

“Our country needs an alternative to the democratic-republican unipartide, so that people really have a voice,” he wrote.

Marathon vote in the Senate

The US Senate organizes a marathon vote on a vast budget that is vital to Donald Trump's agenda and, if adopted, will provide for radical tax exemptions and reductions of health and food programs, writes The Guardian.

The senators gathered in the Capitol for a process known as “votes-ram”, during which the parliamentarians will propose amendments to the legislation over numerous hours.

Democrats claim that tax reductions provided by law would disproportionately advantage the wealthy persons, to the detriment of social programs for Americans with low income.

The law One Big Beautiful Bill Act (as it is officially known) expects to add about $ 3.3 billion to national debt in the next decade. Republicans are in a hurry to adopt the law at the deadline of Trump, July 4.

Republicans – who control both rooms of Congress and are generally loyal to Trump – are strongly divided on how deep the social aid discounts should be to extend the tax exemptions from the legislation.

Trump's answer

In reply, in a nocturnal post on social networks, Trump replied against Musk and threatened to direct the Department for Government Efficiency (Doge) against the technological billionaire.

“Elon can receive more subsidies than any human being in history. By far. Without subsidies, Elon should probably close the business and return home to South Africa. Without missile launches, satellites or the production of electric cars, and our country would save a fortune. Maybe you should look at it!” Trump wrote on his social network.
