The Verkhovna Rada is working on a bill on post -war elections in Ukraine – Stefanchuk

“We are developing this bill, because for the next elections we need a new special document that will touch the so -called post -war elections,” he said.

The head of the arsenal emphasized that it is necessary to resolve many issues from the election process itself, the structure of the elections to the formation of electoral lists, precinct commissions, electronic data transmission systems, as well as determining the duration of their implementation.

“Because, well, for example, imagine that the world has come, but on the day of the election, Russian aviation takes off and sinks, takes off and sinks and does not allow Ukrainian citizens to fulfill their constitutional duty, constitutional right to vote in the elections. Therefore, there are a lot of challenges related to the end of this war, it will depend on how and when it ends. Context

The last time the presidential and parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine in 2019. On March 31, in an interview with Ukrainian Pravda, the head of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Oleg Didenko stated that after the cancellation of martial law, the Rada would need to make changes to the electoral legislation, and citizens of Ukraine who have left the country must undergo “active registration” – a procedure that will create the necessary number of polling stations outside the diplomatic missions abroad. Later Didenko said that preparations for the elections in Ukraine after the cancellation of martial law will take time, but it is impossible to postpone them for a long time.
